  Slow Home and Group Directories
Annoucements Posted by Fabian Wenk on Thursday February 02, @02:42PM
from the sometimes-very-slow-but-stable-service dept.
Since the Migration of home directories on 15. January access to the home and group directories is sometimes very slow. We apologise for the inconvenience and ask you for some more patience until the new file server is ready for production use.

We expected that the performance for file access would be temporarily degraded. After half a year of several problems with the file servers for home directories we accepted this performance loss in favour of a stable service without unplanned interruptions.

The new file server should arrive on Monday, 6. February. If everything works as planned we will migrate the home directories on the weekend of the 11./12. February, which we will also announce here.
