  Floppy and CD-ROM access
Annoucements Posted by Beat Rubischon on Monday August 09, @03:59PM
from the no-more-mount dept.
During the last last kernelupgrade, we installed supermount on our Linux workstations. You wont need to mount your floppys and CD-ROMs any longer. Just insert the media and go to the directory /floppy/ or /cdrom/.

The icons on the desktop reflect this with a permanent burning, green light. No more mount, no more umount. Just access to your data.

Tools like mtools or superformat are still usable to access the raw data.

Access to USB devices like USB-Sticks or USB-Disks may give still some failures. We are working on a solution and keep you informed on this site.
