  Maintenance file server foostock
Under Construction Posted by Fabian Wenk on Thursday June 22, @10:23PM
from the once-planned-work-on-the-weekend dept.
On Sunday, 25. June 2006 between 16:00 and 18:00 we will be upgrading the operating system from FreeBSD 6.0-RELEASE to 6.1-RELEASE on the server foostock. During this time all home and group directories (winhome, machome, unixhome, windata, macdata, unixdata) and our print service will not be available.

Update: 25. June, 16:35: Upgrade done

We hope that the fixes done on the file system stability in the 6.1-RELEASE will solve the problem we currently have with the random crashes. Those always happend at times when one of the two backup jobs (ID's Netbackup after 18:00 and our rubi backup after 03:00) were running. Backups read each and every file and may so trigger some rare problems on the two data file systems with currently 6.5 and 2 million files respectively.
