from the moving-around-some-files-part-1 dept. We need to move some of the group directories around on schibe. This will be done on Thursday, 12. January, between 20:00 and 23:00. During this time some of the group directories (windata, macdata, unixdata) will be limited to read only access, and the others will have short interruption of availability. Read on for more informations. Update: Migration completed at 21:10 The group directories catiav5, cumulus, dendro, isg, solidem, ulp and vp will be be moved and are limited to read only access during the migration. To protect you from losing or corrupting any of your files, it is the best to close all open files on the group directories. If accessed through SMB or AFP please also disconnect it before the migration. Since we have switched to the generic names for our services, the group directories will still be accessible the same way as before, so you don't have to change anything. Due to the continuing hardware problems with our file servers for home directories (sardona and schabell), we need to temporarily move the home directories also to schibe (together with the group drives). For this we need to free the space on one of the two 700GB partitions on schibe. The migration of the home directories will be done on the next weekend and also announced here. < | >
