from the dept. Today, at 11:06 am our home directory server crashed again. The situation is similar to two weeks ago. It is now working again. The downtime was 1 hour. The connections should be reestablished automatically now that the server is back online. We still have not found the cause for these spontaneous crashes. However, we are working on the migration of the home directories to a new file server. Only then will we be able to perform some more tests on the old hardware.
As long as the old server is in productive use, we will be working towards reestablishing the service as fast as we can and postpone the interruptive tests. < | >
