Paul Starzetz found a problem in all current kernels and talks about an not yet available local root-exploit. 2.4.31-pre2, 2.6.11.9 and 2.6.12-rc4-mm1 are fixed, for 2.4 there is hotfix available.
Another problem was discoveres in Intel's HyperThreading. FreeBSD fixed this issue, Linux is not yet ready and you should switch off HTT in case you are running such a machine. < | >
