  Webserver outage

Our webserver crashed this morning 5:50. A disk in the new and fixed RAID set died slowly and delivered some bad bytes. We have now restored our website from the backups and replace the disk in the next hours.

It's the second disk we observed which became a "zombie" in a server. A clean death is usually much better - the controller sees the problem and can switch off the disk. In this case, however, the whole system crashed...
