The central IT support of ETHZ has some interesting news:
  • Inputflash Nr. 52, a periodic newsletter, announces WebVPN, an easy way to access secured webpages from outside of ETHZ. Together with the open fileserver access, you wont need to install VPN on your private computer or notebook to work from outside.
  • The newsserver news.ethz.ch will be replaced on Monday, November 15. Authentication is new based on your n.ethz.ch account and the article index will be renewed.

    You will need to clean up your ~/.newsrc or unsubscribe and subscribe your newsfolders to get the new sync. You will find the complete announcement in the group ethz.config.
