  Mailserver upgrade
Annoucements Posted by Beat Rubischon on Friday August 20, @05:43PM
from the more-cpu-for-spam dept.
After the split of of the mailscanners and the expansion of the diskspace we rearm once more our mailserver. On sunday, August 22 2004, mail delivery will be stopped between 08:00 and 20:00.

Update Sun, 17:45: The migration is done and all pending mails are delivered.

The virus and spamscanner will be splited over more then one machine to improve performance and reliability. The final setup will look like a little beowulf cluster :-)

The personal whitelistes and bayesian databases are currently stored in a old format of the Berkeley Database and need an upgrade. It will take some time to convert 3000 users and we need to switch off all mail delivery during this time.

You would not loose any mail and you will be also able to send out mails. Access to your mails is also possible.
