  New IP ranges
Network Posted by Beat Rubischon on Thursday July 08, @10:35AM
from the check-your-filters dept.
Since monday, there is a new range of IP numbers used in ETHZ. To realize NETng, RIPE allocated new space to ETHZ. Read on in case you are operating a small server with filters or access control based on IP numbers.

The following ranges are now used in ETHZ:

129.132.0.0/16 Main network of ETHZ
82.130.64.0/18 Main network of NETng

192.33.88.0/24 - 192.33.110.0/24 several small networks for internal use and viaETH

To allow the network of ETHZ to a specific service, you should enter

  • 129.132.0.0/16
  • 82.130.64.0/18
or
  • 129.132.0.0/255.255.0.0
  • 82.130.64.0/255.255.192.0
to the access list.

While the network of D-PHYS is not yet using addresses out of the new ranges, our services are all accessible from them.

For people who are not yet calculating netmasks in the CIDR syntax, we prepared a list with all available notations.
