  Definite problems in Internet Explorer
Microsoft Posted by Beat Rubischon on Monday June 28, @11:30AM
from the buggy-browser dept.
After the rumors from friday about bugs in the base system, new storys about Internet Explorer appears. Short description: don't use IE. Read on for the long description.

Update: There is now (Friday afternoon) a patch from Microsoft which closes one of thoses problems. Please visit Windowsupdate!

Update 2: The fix is not perfect, see BUGTRAQ.

According to an article on Netcraft, a worm is spreading over unpached Webservers running Windows and IIS. Visitors of such a site will get modified webpages which triggers a bug in IE and installs a program who collects logins and credit card informations.

Patches are not yet available and we recommend you to use alternative browsers like Mozilla or Opera. While Mozilla is OpenSource, you could get a license for Opera on IDES.
