  Linux Kernel Crash Exploit
Linux Posted by Beat Rubischon on Tuesday June 15, @10:26AM
from the bumm dept.
As described on Symlink, a local DOS exploit exists in the Linux Kernel. We will reboot our mail-, web- and software-servers on Wednesday in the early morning.

A complete description is available in the Linux Kernel Mailing List and a patch in the Bitkeeper archive.

We assume new kernel releases (2.4.27 and 2.6.7) in the next hours. Distributors will provide binary packages, be sure to follow their security mailing lists.

Our workstations will get a new kernel ASAP. We will keep you informed on this site and recommend you to avoid long running jobs in the next days.
