  Bugs in Eudora
Security Posted by Beat Rubischon on Monday May 10, @02:55PM
from the advertise-another-mailclient dept.
A posting today in BUGTRAQ describe a new problem in the mailprogram Eudora. Read on when you are still an Eudora user.

Eudora has a similar problem as Internet explorer in January. Special crafted URLs may be included in a E-Mail which brings you to a complete different webpage as you see in Eudora.

Such problems are used to get your credit card number, your bank account pin or the login and password of your favorite webmail page.

Because of the finished support at ETHZ for Eudora, we recomend you to switch to Mozilla or Thunderbird on Linux and Windows or to iMail on MacOS X.

You need some time to learn the new client and to migrate your settings, on the other hand you will get a supported, IMAP capable mailclient. Feel free to ask your local IT responsible or our team your questions about the migration!
