  Knoppix and Debian ISOs
Linux Posted by Beat Rubischon on Monday October 13, @10:12AM

Our Debian mirror contains now CD-ROM images for Knoppix and Debian Woody for i386 (PCs) and powerpc (Powermacs).

Knoppix is a bootable CD for PCs which contains a Debian based Linux installation. You don't need to install anything on your computer. Because of that, it's an easy way to get an idea of Linux and also a great tool to repair a broken Linux installation. With the script knx-hdinstall, you may install Knoppix on your harddisc - a fast and easy way to get a running Linux installation.

Debian GNU/Linux is our own choice for most servers and workstations. We offer you now prepared CD images for i386 and powerpc - the usual choice for mobile computers at ETHZ.

To burn a CD-ROM on Windows, read the Knoppix instructions, on MacOS X, rename the .iso-File to a .dmg and open the file with Disk Copy. Linux users could use xcdroast or follow the instructions in our readme.
