  Secure your password
Tip of the week Posted by Beat Rubischon on Saturday June 15, @05:49PM
from the no-chance-for-hackers dept.
Our computers are the target of several hackers. We hear often the sentence "My computer has'nt interestings things on it". Wrong. Every computer at ETH Zurich has a 100MBit internet connection and is fast enough to trash most servers in the world.
One point of a good security is a strong password.
You may change every time you want your password for all services on one single webpage:

http://nic.phys.ethz.ch/account/

Don't choose a simple word. Intruders try first a lexica of common words and names before they trys to access your account with random strings.

Better take a sentence:

I feel like one Million Dollars.
Now choose the first letter of every word:

    I feel like 1 million $.
This gives you the password:

    Ifl1m$.
This word looks very strange, but with the sentence, you should always remember. And don't think, Ifl1m$. is your new password - everyone may read it on this webpage :-)
